Royal Navy Type 21 Frigates were sleek fast ships which served with distinction and were very popular with the crew.
Many sailors served on more than one of the class.
Referred to as the 21 CLUB
Unlike other frigates which had many small living quarters, 21s had large messdecks of up to 48 which created great Camaraderie on board.
Type 21 Frigates were the work horse of the RN during the 1980s and were involved in the entire range of activities. Seven of the class saw action in the 1982 Falklands war.
